As most of you know I have been doing the No Other gods study by Kelly Minter with my SS class. It is kicking my boo tah tah and been very difficult to write about as well. It is a very intimate study and one I highly recommend in a small group. I would never do this as a big group study.
Ok - so just checkin in to say hello, but make no promises as to when I will be back. You will always see it posted on facebook or if you are signed up below you will receive an email telling you I have blogged.
Thanks for your understanding.
What has God been teaching you this summer. Real stuff - no Sunday School answers!!
Love you, Leigh

Kelly Minter rocks!! Her NOG study is great. I did it in my small group of about 10-12. I was going to then do it again in SS but I chose not to for the same reason. I don't think it would be as personal and sharing in a large group. Good grief it's hard enough to admit we have idols and gods to ourselves and a few people let alone 30! Yikes!
God has been asking for obedience from me and I have been putting it off. Well....putting it off implies that I would obey. Honestly, I think if I put it off long enough, it would have gone away.
Is that how God works??? Oh No Sista!!! When He asks for obedience, He expects us to obey.
He asked something of me in May. Just a little act of obedience. I fought against it and tried to ignore it. Ignore something God is trying to get across???? He made sure there was going to be no way I could ignore Him when it came to obedience.
For two and a half months, it seems that every blogger I follow decided at some point to talk about obedience. Devotions in my email would be on obedience. The bible study I was going to. You get the idea. God was making His point.
I thought I was being stubborn which is so not me. The truth is, Satan was telling me something. He kept convincing me it was not necessary. What God was asking was just a little thing but I really didn't have to do it.
I attended a conference last week and got to hear Tracie Miles from Proverbs 31. So guess what she talked about?? Oh Yeah..obedience!
I left that conference with a changed heart. And a heart that God was working on...Hard!!!
I didn't obey right then but I could no longer run.
So you may be thinking, did she finally obey??? Yes Ma'am I Did!!
Coming over from the Knightly News where I entered a contest to win an autographed copy of your book - Loving God, Loving People...
God has been reminding me this summer to let Him handle situations in my life and to quit trying to "fix" everything....
