Have you ever been confused and have no clue which way to turn or what to do? I have been there and way more than I like to admit. I find that often it is not a matter of lack of faith or lack of trust in the Lord, it i just I don't know which way I am to go. I trust in the Lord and I trust the Lord AND I have faith, but I just cannot discern the way in which I am suppose to proceed in a particular situation!
There are a lot of quotes many people recite and yet actually have no clue it is scripture. Yes, I have done it myself, even recently! I have counseled at times telling friends and family that God is not a God of confusion and do believe it with all my heart. (I think that is part of the problem - my heart gets in the way.) But did you realize that is a scripture in 1 Cor. 14:33. "For God is not a God of disorder but of peace."
It got me thinking.
What is my problem when I get in a situation when I have no clue which way to go next???? IF God is not a God of confusion and disorder, then what is my problem???
Turned me back to one of the first scriptures I have ever memorized... Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight." In this verse is so much simplicity and direction. This verse has the answer to your confusion and frustration and disorder in your life!
When I am confused and don't know what to do....... 3 steps plan
1) Trust in the Lord with all your heart - look at where and in whom you put your trust. mom, dad, friends, money, house, status, fb friends, twitter, food, car, etc... We need to redirect any security we feel with those things or people and give it back to the Lord. He may have provided all those things above, but we hold them lightly knowing He is all we need - those are just gifts.
2) Lean not on your own understanding - this can be a tough one. This is where we have to try to have a Heavenly perspective. Many times His ways will not make a lick of sense to us. I think often times it is not suppose to. We cannot have His perspective and therefore things will look disorderly and confusing. This is where we go back to step one and TRUST!
3) In all your ways acknowledge Him - there are times that we have to move forward even when we are unsure of what we are to do. I call that faith! It is does not take a huge amount of faith in my opinion in certain circumstances to just sit and wait in faith! I think more times than not God asks us to move forward not knowing what it is going on. As we move forward we are acknowledging Him and claiming His promises and His faithfulness! We keep moving even though we don't understand - lean NOT on your own understanding! And we can do all of this because we are trusting in the Lord with all our heart!
BAMMMMM - 1, 2, 3!
Thank you Lord that you are not a God of confusion! Thank you that you will direct my path and align my steps if I will take the time to seek you and your plan! Help me to remember steps 1, 2, 3!!! Oh Jesus - I see You so clearly in so many things right now!!! Thank you!! May my time today with Jerrica and Briley be sweet! Thank you for them allowing me in their lives!! Sweet, sweet girls!! I love you Father!

I wish there was a "Like" button on this....LOL. Thanks for sharing this and for the encouragement. I loved this post. So many times I have to do the same thing...where I bring myself back to the basics and realize that He is all I need and the other things are His gifts to me. Leaning not on your own understanding seems to be the hardest one for me. I always have to look back at each circumstance at how He has brought me through and that is what keeps me going with any current situation. Thanks for the reminder.

Great post, I struggle with this very same thing and especially the verse about God not being the author of confusion. But yes....lean not on your own understanding but on God ~ the best place to turn when you feel confused.....I think that we need to do that because we don't have the "big" picture like he does. My word picture that helps me understand this is like putting a puzzle together...if you don't have the box lid that shows you how the pieces look when they are all fit together it can be harder to figure out how the puzzle is supposed to look, but guess what! God has the box lid and we just need to trust him when he points us in the right direction......Great article! thanks for sharing....
