453 - I'm Waiting...

There is a theme going on in my life right now that is reassuring, but also can be a bit frustrating if the truth be told. Dear Lord, you have me in the wait! I so remember waiting and waiting for each child to be born as they were always late. If i look at it from a spiritual perspective, it is not late, it is right in Your time!! Just seemed like forever to me - basically 1 to 2 weeks in the wait past what the doctors had predicted! Ugh!! But with delivery for the most part because of ultrasounds, etc. I knew I have having a boy or girl and things "looked" to be ok and healthy. In God's waiting room it is a bit different. I have no idea what I am waiting on and no idea if I am going to like it - as if i have an option or opinion!! I know in the end whatever I am waiting for will be Godly good and will be for His glory - oh I pray so!! I know so!!

So this morning dear Jesus, I have found myself parked in Isaiah 64:4. "Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him." That last part is ringing in my ears!! "who acts on behalf of those who WAIT for him." wow!!! That "acts" is 'asah' which means to do, to act, to create, to establish, to accomplish, to prepare, to offer, to sacrifice. In the Psalms this same word is used to describe God's creative activity. I have trouble thinking of anything positive when I think of the Lord. By that I mean I look at this Word of only good things for my future. I do know and repeat often the Jer. 29:11-13 passage and how that promises a wonderful future, one not to harm me. But I must keep in my mind that what I think is good and a harmless future may not be what He has in mind. I always get my dreams wrapped up in my thoughts instead of what He may have in mind! So I wait and watch and He creates and fights - as I learned yesterday!!

Isaiah 30:18 "Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who WAIT for him!" Blessed - that is a great word and one that I think is too often mis-explained if you will. In the world we often say how blessed we are and we are. But truly to be blessed has nothing to do with health, wealth, family, etc. - not really. Being blessed in the Lord is to live a day in and day out kind of life that you recognize His presence in your life. Oh yes, He is present in your family, and your health, and all, but even if all those things faded away and His presence was still evident could we still say we are blessed? Makes me think of Especially Heather! She is going through cancer and treatments - it is bad! But so often she repeats how blessed she is. I know that is because of the overwhelmingly presence of God she has in her life because her situation stinks. Isn't it interesting that the scripture says "blessed are all who wait on him". My question is - are we blessed while we wait - hoping for a wonderful future or are we blessed after we have waited and we see the end results - yep, me too, i think both!!

So let me end today on the top of the waiting mountain because Lord in your wonderful fashion you just gave me one more scripture to hold on to today -praise you, Lord - I love it!! Ps. 27:14 "Wait for the Lord and be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord." Ok wait (hee hee) - this is good - wait is 'qawah' which means...................................are you ready - this is going to be really good............................................................................................................................................................. to expect, to patiently wait for , HOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh Jesus thank you!! I have every reason "in the Book" to hope, expect, and patiently wait for the best. Your best, Your Will, Your love, Your creative designs for my life!! Oh Lord, thank you thank you thank you!! And thank you one more time!!! Waiting, I am and will - I wait for Your return!! I love you!!

Yesterday went wonderful at this church. They are thinking about having me back in February which would be awesome!! I would be thrilled to do it. Such a great group of ladies, we had so much fun! House is coming along!!! And guess what - today is my youngest, Elleigh, pronounced ellie - 4th birthday!! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a joy and delight!! The bow on our family!
