856 - Don't let go of the rope!!!

Oh Lord, you know my weary heart. You know how often I want to just throw in the towel and be a slug. It would be easier to just sit back, do nothing, and be the critic of all those that are doing! But no, you have called me to get out there, do it, and endure the critics!

This morning in my studying I have come across a verse much like Gal. 6:9 "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

Hebrews 6:10 "God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them."

If I am honest, which I usually am and it does sometimes come back to bite me, I can say there are times that I wonder if God sees the good I do? OOOOHHHHH yuck, that sounds so terrible. Makes it sound like i do everything for a reward. But again, if i am being honest, those are thoughts I sometimes deal with?

Are they all bad and are they all not necessary? Well, first of all if no one else had ever thought of God noticing or not noticing the actions that we do for the good then there would have been no need to put these scriptures in the Word. But obviously this is something we as humans deal with.

I tend to think this is no different in a work situation and actually reporting to your boss the things you have done and even the extras you did as well. You are hoping they notice if for nothing more than they realize you are trying, you are doing your job above and beyond, and you are doing as they expect or have asked. Yes, a reward would be wonderful, but not expected, just the mere fact of them noticing is enough!

With the Lord Jesus I struggle at times knowing if He notices. "Of course He does", my brain yells to my heart, but sometimes my heart begins to doubt. My brain once again has a brain to heart talk with my heart, or actually it is the Spirit speaking to me!

"Leigh, you know the Lord never NOT sees. He doesn't even sleep for Pete's sake. (Who is Pete?) He is watching all you do for His kingdom and as the Word explains in Hebrews He will never forget! You must press on knowing He is watching and continue on doing as He commands and wills in your life. Your choice is not to say yes or no, but to be obedient! Your choice is to get up daily and allow Him to infuse you with love, encouragement, and direction so that you are sure of your next steps. It is possible "to become weary in doing good", but hang in there and remember the harvest awaits. Come on sister, you can do this. Hear the crowd cheering on the believers, "the great cloud of witnesses" found in Hebrews 12:1. He know, He sees, and He will take care of the details. Keep pressing on!!"

Oh Lord, thank you!!! Thank you for this word!! I pray that it speaks to whomever!! I pray Your Word is life to people! I pray it changes me from the inside out!!! God thank you for never giving up on me!! I love you Lord.!!!

Gonna treat my son to 18 holes today. 9 walking and 9 with a cart. He has never been on a cart. EJ is at church camp since Sunday and the little girlies are going a church day trip. I am excited to spend the day with Tuck and golf!! Thank you Jesus!!
