Thanks for sharing this.

I was really hoping you would tell me how you fixed your 5 year old because I have a 13 year old that STILL does that to me.
Instead I had a light bulb moment or maybe a kick in the pants.
Thank you!

Great illustration to make the point. I loved your emphasis on sometime He chooses to bless one over another but it doesn't mean the one not blessed at the time is any less loved.

Blessings.

So very true... thx for sharing your honesty & opening our eyes to our own personal struggles too of the constant need to bring all to Him - the only One that can make a difference in each of our circumstances.

Thanks so much for sharing this! The concept of offense...so well said. And don't we all deal with that! A Scripture comes to mind regarding that - Psalm 16:5-6:
5 LORD, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure.
6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.

We've got to remind ourselves this when we're tempted to say, "but what about me God? How come I don't get that blessing?!?"

Can just hear Him saying, "I've assigned you your portion and cup child, and it's GOOD. It's so good, child. Trust Me."

Thanks again!

Thanks for sharing, my baby is now 16 years old and we still have issue of the same thing. Shopping is so hard with teens, they want, want and don't understand that we just can't get that right now but I can afford to buy like something for the house. We sometimes get into small little fights and I just pray God get me through these teen years and then I cry because I know in about 3 years I will be wishing I had that time back.. parenting is a bittersweet thing, but boy I do love it.

Leigh, very open and transparent, very practical and helpful. And so true. I loved the scripture Joy quoted. I don't think mine is so much offense as it is envy sometimes, like you and Joy were saying sometimes we think, "What about me, Lord? How come her blessing her and not me? Why is it always so easy for her?" :O Thanks for this vlog - and the encouragement to always take things to God. :)

Leigh- This is so true...and not just of children. First viewed this Aug 28th and it coincided with at least one other devotional and one blog and was exactly what I needed to hear. Been meaning to thank you for posting. In Christ.
